Keep reading to see if a Ring Stick-Up Cam is right for your home. First off, you have your choice of the Ring Stick-Up Cam Battery or the Ring Stick-Up Cam Plug-In. (More on that later.) Second, you can choose to mount your camera to the wall or place it on a flat surface. (If you mount it, you’ll need to use a bracket. Despite what the name suggests, the Stick-Up Cam can’t be stuck to the wall without hardware.) Last but not least, you can use this camera both indoors and outdoors. It’s weather-resistant and works in -5°F to 122°F, making it suitable for most climates.

The Protect Basic Plan should work for most people, but if you have or want a Ring home security system, we recommend the Plus Plan. It comes with 10% off other Ring devices and free home security monitoring. Ring also has a secondary app called the Neighbors app. With Neighbors, you can upload Ring clips directly to an anonymous neighborhood awareness system. With the battery-powered version, you need to insert the battery pack. With the plug-in version, you need to find an outlet. If you choose to mount the camera to the wall, you’ll have to screw in the brackets. If you aren’t sold on the Stick-Up Cam, Ring also has some awesome door cameras. Check out our reviews of the following:

Ring Pro (one of Ring’s most popular doorbell cameras) Ring Peephole Cam (just stick it over your peephole, no wiring necessary) Ring Video Doorbell (covers every Ring doorbell camera, including another look at the Ring Video Doorbell Pro)

If you don’t love the Ring brand, we recommend Nest and Arlo. You’ll just have to spend more Benjamins with those companies. Or, if you’re looking for something else entirely, check out our outdoor camera review.
